Histopathology

Histopathology
- Histopathology involves the microscopic examination of tissue to analyze and understand the manifestations of disease.
- For example, Microscopic examination of large specimens such as breast lumps or uterus or bowel, that were removed during surgical procedure because of suspected cancer.
- We also analyze tissue sections obtained from biopsies, including excision biopsies—where tissue is surgically removed with a scalpel (such as a skin excision of a suspicious mole)—and core biopsies, where a needle is used to extract a small sample or core of tissue from a suspicious mass (for example, to investigate a breast lump) for microscopic examination.
